Fire Safety

Why Is It Important To Be Prepared?

In 2015, there were 1,345,500 fires reported in the United States alone. In over 3,000 of those fires, people had been killed, and nearly 16,000 people were injured. People can have only minutes to make it out of their home safely. Despite this information, too few people are informed on the importance of fire safety -- the importance of knowing the proper preperations to make before a fire, how to obatin safety during a fire, and the necessary procedures after a fire.

In less than fifteen seconds, a tiny flame can get out of control, and turn into a massive fire. It only takes minutes for thick black smoke to fill the building, intoxicating the air. Room temperatures can be 100 degrees at floor level and rise to 600 degrees at eye level. There are so many ways for a fire to easily kill people. More people need to be aware of the dangers.
